Increased Health & Wellbeing, Jobs & Skills Development, Tackling Fuel Poverty,West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) has developed a landmark scheme to create a 'Net Zero Neighbourhood' in Dudley. In this second, currently unfunded, phase of the project, 307 homes will be retrofitted with measures (such as insulation and low carbon heating) to lower the carbon emissions of the buildings' energy use. In addition, the project is seeking to decarbonise a small industrial park and a primary school. Beyond the reduction of carbon emissions, the project has numerous wider benefits. These include reducing residents' bills, improving general health and wellbeing and broader cultural benefits.
