Increased Health & Wellbeing, Jobs & Skills Development, Tackling Fuel Poverty,West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) has developed a landmark scheme to create a 'Net Zero Neighbourhood' in Dudley. In the first phase of the project, 50homes will be retrofitted with measures (such as insulation and low carbon heating) to lower the carbon emissions of the buildings' energy use. In addition, the Net Zero Neighbourhood project will improve the local green space and transport links. The project has been funded partially by WMCA with additional funding coming from central government grants. Beyond the reduction of carbon emissions, the project has numerous wider benefits. These include reducing residents' bills and improving general health and wellbeing.
